Stress

Stress is a normal emotion that helps an individual to be alert and active when he or she encounters a situation that creates pressure on them or it is dangerous for the individual. Stress is very common these days, some level of it is even considered good, as it helps us to fight with the situation.

But what happens when stress of a person reaches to a level that is beyond what is considered normal? One should know when his or her stress level is reaching to a degree that is far past normal. When the feeling of it reaches to a stage where you are not able to concentrate on anything, blood pressure rises and leads to sweating and fast heart beats. The needs to understand that this is normal, and they need to seek help for this.

Stress exists on spectrum where some people get it a lot and some people get it lesser than the others, but we all experience it on some level at sometime in our lives, be it exams, job interviews or performances. Sometimes it happens for no reason at all.

Some behavioural changes during stress could be nail-biting, pulling out hair, avoiding people or situations, feeling compelled to perform certain habits or rituals, that don't seem to make sense (such as compulsive hand-washing), one might even have troubles related to digestion and one of the main symptoms is difficulty in sleeping. When you notice such symptoms in yourself or someone close to you, you need to consult a Psychologist or if the situation worsens then a psychiatrist for medical help as well.

Stress can come from any event or thought that makes you feel frustrated, angry, or nervous. Stress is your body's reaction to a challenge or demand. In short bursts, stress can be positive.
